I went to Natas Travel exhibition 2 days ago to compare the itineraries, price and etc for a trip to Cambodia.
What surprised me is that 5-Star charge almost S$1370 for a 5D trip to Cambodia (Phnom Penh + Siem Reap) whereas Chan Brothers and CTC is around S$770. All prices include airport tax and misc. charges. The only differences is 5-Star has domestic flights from Siem Reap to PP whereas Chan Brothers has a coach service. How can there be a different of almost S$600?????? NBCB
When I spoke to their branch (before the Natas visit), the staff told me that the airport tax was S$112 per person, and it became S$180 when I was at the exhibition. How can a daylight robbery occur when the fuel prices are lower now, and suddenly shot up as the staff at the exhibition told me the airport taxes just raise. I challenge for the reason and staff said just went up.
What I cannot believe was that the staff will bluff you about Silkair terminology of "V", "Q" or "VQ" class of the flight, and it costs another S$110 dollars more.
Just watch out that during bad economy crunch, there are some sickening, disgusting and "faceless" 5-Star travels agents around in Singapore.
I will never, ever, go with this company and pre-warn anyone who asked me about my impression about this company.

Often booked with 5 stars to travel to Malaysia and so far only 1screw up when we went up to Cameron Highlands recently.. Our bus back to SG took nearly freaking 12 hrs! At first the bus wasn't punctal, then they had to go KL to drop 2 customers.. So after that we were told that there wont be any more stops. BUT the stupid bus driver went to Malacca to pick up 4 ppl!!! Pissed all the passengers off!! icon_ranting.gif Well.. that's the onli screw-up as of now..
I also booked a tour with 5 Stars to Korea too.. coz it's the cheapest and value for $$.. Did lots of comparing with other agencies at tat time! And overall experience was good.. they delivered what was promised!! And seriously, food's fantastic over there! Room wise are 4-5 Star hotels with great views... And the tour guide gave very detailed explanation to us! But I kept dozing on the coach (Nt on purpose!!!!) Service's good..We dun haf to wait for the bus nor do they give us very little time to shop/ walk ard...Oh!! they have this photographer ard (You are supppose to buy picts fr him @ the end of the trip.. but of course U can choose nt to! ) who's veri friendly and helpful! Carry our bags.. Serve us during our meals..(So in the end, think we bought 8-10 picts fr him.. = abt S$80!!!! and we are the ONLY ppl who bought the least in the tour!)

Just want to share my Europe tour ( 8 Days Switzerland ) experience with Five Stars . My tour leader is Jia Fu . He is Singaporean . With his service , myself and my wife enjoy the trip very much. Five Stars actually provide value for money Europe package. The hotels , meals , guide , coach arrangements are very good. I will travel Five Stars for my next Europe Trip.
