After reading so much comments I realized that I was quite "lucky" with Chan Brothers. Just got back from a 8D6N Touch of Korea tour with them. I have to say the tour leader and local kr guide are very nice. They are very patient and attentive to elders(we have quite a number of them). They even brought the elders to rides/shows throughout the whole duration in everland(knowing that they cannot really go for the real thrills). The kr guide brought us to different meals everyday and our tour leader Vincent was very helpful and he gives appropriate advises to us too. So perhaps Chan Brothers is not really that terrible? I was just abit turn off by too many shopping itinerary and a surprised "compulsory optional shopping tour"...

I think that Sarah's posting best describes what happens when a travel agency becomes too big and loses sight of the type of customer service it should be providing to travellers.
In the face of competition from other agencies, online booking engines etc, what is the value add of booking with Chan Brothers when we can do it ourselves online? By virtue of this online forum you all have proven that you are IT savvy so why go to an agency to book your travel? Everything you need is online! And cheaper too!
The only reason you need a traditional brick-and-mortar travel agency is to query on travel matters such as visas, travel conditions and restrictions.
Chan has provided you a (dis)service which you could have gotten yourself. And you've paid a premium for substandard services.
My advice to the agency is to seriously re-examine what services you are charging your customers for.
