On arrival in Auckland, you will be transfer to your hotel. You are free to explore “The City of Sails” after check-in to the hotel. Walk around many shopping at famous Queen Street, Aotea Centre, Maritime Museum, Sky City Casino, Victoria Market, etc

Auckland – Waitomo – Rotorua
Travel south by coach via Hamilton to Waitomo.
The Caves Tour and glowworm grotto are included. Experience the wonder of our unique boat trip, gliding silently through the starry wonderland of the glowworm grotto, your way lit by a myriad of tiny glowworm lights glittering, glimmering and reflecting off the water. After, you will travel to Rotorua.
Hotel: Lake Plaza Hotel or similar.

Rotorua
Your half-day tour includes a thermal valley, farm show and trout springs.
The afternoon is free.

Rotorua – Auckland
You have free time this morning for optional activities. This afternoon you will cross the Mamaku Hills to the Waikato Valley, Matamata and Morrinsville on your journey back to Auckland.

Auckland – Hobbiton - Auckland
Depart Auckland aboard a scheduled passenger service intercity coach traveling via Hamilton to Matamata. (Note: there is no commentary provided on the transport sectors to & from Matamata).
The Waikato: traveling via the market garden area know locally as the Bombay Hills before continuing into New Zealand’s largest dairy farming province, the Waikato. At times run alongside the Waikato River, New Zealand’s longest, flowing from Lake Taupo to the Tasman Sea. Several Hydro dams generate electricity for the national grid along its 354 kilometre journey.
Matamata: Travelling fromHamilton your journey continues via the rural township of Morrinsville then on to Matamata. The sheep and the dairy industry shares this area with some of the country’s leading horse breeders, their wooden fenced stud farms can be seen at regular intervals. Disembark your coach in the town outside the Matamata information centre. Time to grad a quick lunch at one of several cafes before the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm tour begind. The total duration of the tour is approximately 2 ˝ hours.
RINGS SCENIC TOURS LTD: Depart the Matamata information centre for a 15 minute ride to the Hobbiton Movie Set & Farm. Your personable and entertaining tour guide provides an informative commentary on the story behind the scenes on how and why the location was chosen and what was involved to create the set. The Hibbiton Movie Set was created on the Alexander family farm, and although most of the set was dismantled in April 2000, hobbiton holes and some structures from the film set remain as a uniquely entertaining and interesting attraction to visit.
Return to Auckland via Hamilton with Newmans Coach Lines.
