Remember to get some spray for hair..its really dry...u wont want ur hair to get tangled up...i think hanoi now is hot too?if ur taking scooters u can get a mask to cover ur face they sell it there too..really dusty, i suggest u bring jeans and pants instead of skirts..bring more US dollars too

dont look at any beggars even kids if they beg from u, dont even look a glance just continues and ignore them, dont answer them that u dont want because they will keep sticking to u, if u look at them or talk to them..most are cheats..theres alot out there begging for money..some are quite poor thing but my suggestion is dont cos more and more will come along, i went there first time and this boy beg from me, i pitied and turned to look at him, he hold my bag!!! and when my bf ignores and tell me to ignore him, after some time he banged our table...

Hanoi ppl are all originally Vietnamese so i dont think theres much use of cantonese there...not like HCM cos some of HCM ppl comes from china..i've never been to hanoi though but i can understand vietnamese alittle, just the accent is different..u can try the food, like dog if u see on the street white chicken looking big animal like how they hang the roast pig..thats dog..no fur one..looks like chicken..or u can try the duck baby egg..they love coffee alot, their cafe is nice..U can try their Pho too, its really smooth, can buy home too i bought some back..u can try their beef breakfast..looks like steak but in their style very nice..if u want u can get their costume, the ao dai..not cheap but its nice..theres white rats also..those grow up from rice field..

Suggest u better write down the singapore embassy number and address...sometimes at the airport they might make things difficult for u..like what happened to me, saying my photo too old

actually most of their words if u notice sounds like chinese..dont worry its quite safe there..dont need to bring so much money also...quite cheap there

If u want to buy something like shirts..if lets say the shirt cost 10bucks...dont buy it if u think its cheap..lower it by 4bucks or lesser...its actually much cheaper..thats how my bf did..manage to get 3 bucks top..u can walk away and say u dont want it and they will call u back..some might not then just forget it..some will ask u how much u can afford..must really bargain until low..

if u want to buy clothes that are cheap, but they get worn out fast cos its cheap clothing from China...most of their clothes are imported...if u want to get clothes like Levis all those its much more expensive than Singapore...their clothes not cheap cos all are imported..unless china ones can bargain...go to market and bargain but dont go to the "Market place where they attract tourists",called BEN THANH, that place for tourists its cheap if u see it la but then u must bargain until VERY VERY CHEAP cos its actually really low price but they put it higher seems to us like cheap but its actually consider expensive.. can buy for 3-6bucks depends on what u want to buy..they charge as 12bucks...try to bargain loh until 3bucks

Oh ya u can try go to Diamond plaza where all the branded are but quite small place..dont carry ur bag on the back, alot of robbers if u take motor...u can hire a motor...instead of taxi, taxi is slower and more expensive..

wear jeans and pants better...there not many wear skirts..cos inconvenient..and they quite conservative, i wore skirt and alot of ppl look at me

Dont mistaken the meat on the streets that are hang there, they are dogs if u dare to eat it...baby duck eggs u can find at the places where at night, there alot of stools and short tables, with selling of alot of sweet drinks and desserts, u can ask for the baby duck egg unborn, can see the "hair" of the duck..gross...they also have rats that are from field...oh ya one thing i love most is their sugar cane with orange juice drink

Dog meat is not easy to find in Vietnam, just only some places sell it. For some other places, they use pork or some other meats and make it really like dog.
