Redang (Malay: Pulau Redang) is an island which lies about 45 km off the coast of Terengganu state in Malaysia.

You need to find your own way to Kuala Terengganu. It took us 10 hours to drive up from SG. Parking lots are available near the jetty @ RM10/day. I'll consider to take bus for my next trip as it's too taxing to for both the drivers and the car.

I took coach from Five Stars in Singapore and about 9 hours journey from Golden Mile to Merang Jetty. There will be breaks in between the journey for toilets. From Merang Jetty, speedboat tooks 45 mins to Redang Reef Resort.

flight is available at Seletar airport by berjaya air. took around 1.5hrs to reach redang airport. from there, speedboat from the resort will fetch you.

I stayed at Redang Reef Resort. Service was good, staff was friendly. Environment was relaxing with a small garden facing the sea. Taking a nap by the sea is a wonderful thing. Relax and calm.

The nearest redang's coral area will be by Redang Reef. Reef side by side got 2 area thats great for snorkelling. Facing the sea, left side of Reef, you will able to see sotongs and sea turtles. great place but lots of rocks and kinda dirty. if you wear a bootie, you be safe from cuts.

On the right side of Reef, you will able to see beautiful and clear water and sand. at there, ask the guides for some bread, you will able to get real close contact with the marines fishes.

as for the constructions, i will say go now if you want to. its becoming too 'urban'.

anyway i am going redang this week. this time, gonna cover kapas, tengannu caves and waterfall. if possible, go penhantian.

gonna bring lots of RM this time, i remember at tengannu, D24 durains are selling at RM4 per kg.

Everytime I went there, I visit the turtles behind the Redang Reef Resort. Turtles at Reef need not to be seasonal. We can see them anytime, unless they are coming up to lay eggs.

i went to redang last year and stayed at laguna redang also.. the service was excellent, including transport, insurance, and lodging i spent a total of abt 260 sin... dun really need to bring alot of cash since it's full board, just bring enough to buy coconuts drinks or if you want to buy souviners or something..

renting of snorkels is a one time charge.. can't remember how much.. as for the swimming bit, you can wear life jackets. just make sure you have frens who can swim and stay in a group if u are not a strong swimmer. you can stick ard the guides also.. they can show you more interesting things during the snorkelling trip...

I stay at Redang Reef and behind the reef is a place where turtle lives near the seashore. Snorkelling guide will bring us to see turtle in the morning when turtle come out to have breakfast.

Gifts or clothes for friends. Beach wear is cheap near the Pelangi Beach Resort. A small beach wear shop with lots of gifts and souvenirs.

Every meals is taken care of in redang reef resort. from breakfast to dinner including tea-breaks. Hot and cold beverages is available until 9pm except alocholic & carbonated drinks.

bring a bottle for plain water available in the canteen.

Bring bottled water!! the water taste really weird there

Just came back from Redang few weeks ago. Nice place. I stayed in Ayu Mayang Resort. Think it's one of the smaller resorts on the island. Quiet and nice place. We can even see sun rise from our belcony The price is very reasonable too. Highly recommended

Just came back from Redang too! I'm so in love with the place. Stayed at Laguna Redang. Food & facilities are good, but could get noisy because of the size of the resort. If you want homely quiet resort, do try Redang Reef. Nice hammocks there!

It's cheaper if you go during weekdays.

stayed in redang reef and facilities like water heater and air-con are all included. except TV which we dont have but then, we dont have the time to watch tv cos we played from morning till night.
