Never fill up your embarkation form as going for "business".
There will be extra tax for it.
Some young girl from my did that and was ask to pay US$50.
And yes they have the right to tax you for it.
So don't be too ego minded, just fill up as holiday.
And never let them hold your passport, you can argue with them that that passport belong to your country and not indonesia as sure they don't have the right to hold on to your passport longer than neccessery.

The fish cracker is good, those big and thick white colour cracker.
As a thumb of rule, exchage should be done at the country you visit, the rate will be higher.
But I not sure about batam though due to security reason.
If you able to get some one to accompany you to exchange and leave immediately.

From SG Habour front take 45 mnts ferry. (ave every 30 mnt at trip)

went there last week! was really fun. didn't go shopping as the resort i'm staying is far from there and take cab needs SGD$30 to and fro.
went to turi beach resort. their service is really good! very attentive.
food there.. so so, but nongsa point just beside it, their steak is perfect!

i was there in my earlier stay in singapore.The trip was good.We hired one taxi there and the taxi driver was so friendly.I am not talking about all taxi drivers.He was nice person.

better to hire a taxi recommended by your hotel.Go there and enjoy.Be nice and enjoy.

spa wise, mid range oh. their body scrub looks tempting, at SGD$35. it looks good ah, their spa, not so bad. but i never try, coz i have sensitive skin. hehe!

night time, can walk walk, they have small little huts, u can sit down there and chit chat till dawn. currently they are buidling a jetty out the sea from the resort. it will be even better after it is finished. all the rooms are very far from one another. a big hut have two rooms, can be connecting room as well. the place is very quiet and calm. when we go to our room, we have to take the buggy. hehe!
